A roll up window blind or shade is a perfect place to store woodworking plans -- just tape them down and let the shade roll them up. Keep your table saw push stick close at hand by fastening it to the front of your saw table with velcro or magnets so you can quickly grab it when needed. Use a moist cloth to slightly dampen your hands before feeding stock through a cutter -- it gives you a much better grip on the stock. Cloths used to wipe stain can be safely air dried in a well ventilated area away from pets and children. Easily remove rusted screws by heating the head with a soltering iron -- it will expand, then contract making it easy to remove. Keep your saw blades clean at all times. A gooey blade can cause dangerous kick back. Petroleum jelly and cooking oils make perfect inexpensive, non-toxic light stains for projects. Covering the back side of sandpaper with duct tape will make it last MUCH longer. Abrasive wheels can be cleaned of goo with cooking spray -- it also helps prevent buildup of particulate matter. The tips of different sizes of nails can be used as drill bits, working well on most wood stocks.
