Covering the back side of sandpaper with duct tape will make it last MUCH longer. Petroleum jelly and cooking oils make perfect inexpensive, non-toxic light stains for projects. Extend the life of your tack cloths by putting them in baby food jars or ziplock storage bags. A roll up window blind or shade is a perfect place to store woodworking plans -- just tape them down and let the shade roll them up. Keep your stains and glues from freezing in your non-heated workshop by storing them in a plastic food cooler. Neat! Old croquet mallets, cut down to size, make inexpensive backup woodworking mallets! Dented wood can often be repaired by heating a damp cloth with an iron over the dent...the wood will expand, filling the hole. Keep your table saw push stick close at hand by fastening it to the front of your saw table with velcro or magnets so you can quickly grab it when needed. Cloths used to wipe stain can be safely air dried in a well ventilated area away from pets and children. Easily remove rusted screws by heating the head with a soltering iron -- it will expand, then contract making it easy to remove. Wipe the clear sheild of your safety glasses with a dryer static cling sheet -- it will keep sawdust from sticking to them!
