Now before you give up, let us say that there is NO CARVING involved with this project and that all the patterns for all pieces are full size so you can just trace and cut. You CAN do this project -- we've had lots of success stories.

The above being said, this is a long project if you elect to finish all of the detail work as pictured. All of the swirls and flowers on the horse are to be scrolled pieces, but you can choose to cut and apply all, some, or none of them -- the horse looks great either way. While it looks like a decorative piece, the plan details alternative construction for a support post which allows the horse to be safely ridden by children. It IS a toy and not just for show.

We've had a lot of woodworkers take us up on this project -- a little time and patience can have your family, child, or grandchild "oohing and ahhing".

Full size patterns, a list of materials, and instructions are included. The horse, when completed is 27" high at seat, 34" long, and 16" wide at runners.

Welcome fellow woodworker!            Keep your table saw push stick close at hand by fastening it to the front of your saw table with velcro or magnets so you can quickly grab it when needed.            White pencils are very useful in woodworking...they make easy to see lines on darker wood stocks.            Old croquet mallets, cut down to size, make inexpensive backup woodworking mallets!            Use a moist cloth to slightly dampen your hands before feeding stock through a cutter -- it gives you a much better grip on the stock.            If you have to bend small pieces of wood, wrap them in a damp towel and put them in the microwave for 2 minutes on high -- be certain no metal is present.            Sign up for FREE Email Sale Alerts and save 10-30% on plans from time to time. Check the left of the page for a link.            Petroleum jelly and cooking oils make perfect inexpensive, non-toxic light stains for projects.            Wipe the clear sheild of your safety glasses with a dryer static cling sheet -- it will keep sawdust from sticking to them!            Welcome fellow woodworker!            A roll up window blind or shade is a perfect place to store woodworking plans -- just tape them down and let the shade roll them up.            Keep your stains and glues from freezing in your non-heated workshop by storing them in a plastic food cooler. Neat!            Keep your saw blades clean at all times. A gooey blade can cause dangerous kick back.            Extend the life of your tack cloths by putting them in baby food jars or ziplock storage bags.            Measure twice, cut once -- the paramount rule of building!            Did you know you can Mail-In your order? Check the left of the page for a Mail-In Orderform link.            Covering the back side of sandpaper with duct tape will make it last MUCH longer.            Our low-cost First Class shipping is only $3.5o -- most plans parcels arrive to U.S.A. customers in just 3-5 days.            Call 1-800-296-6256 Mon-Fri from 8am to 2pm, EST, with your question or order.            Dented wood can often be repaired by heating a damp cloth with an iron over the dent...the wood will expand, filling the hole.            Easily remove rusted screws by heating the head with a soltering iron -- it will expand, then contract making it easy to remove.            Cloths used to wipe stain can be safely air dried in a well ventilated area away from pets and children.            The tips of different sizes of nails can be used as drill bits, working well on most wood stocks.            Abrasive wheels can be cleaned of goo with cooking spray -- it also helps prevent buildup of particulate matter.
