If you're looking for a landscape project, consider this one. The plan details how to construct the wheel (redwood or cedar is recommended), as well as how to rig the wheel so that actual flowing water can be run through it. A submersible pump can circulate water and just a bit of hardware is needed to allow the wheel to turn. All hardware can probably be found locally or fashioned by hand, as the plans detail the parts needed. If you don't want to hunt down the hardware, we carry a bearing kit to let the water wheel turn freely.

Full size patterns are provided for irregular curves and also included is a list of the materials needed, the instructions for building, exploded diagrams for assembly, and photos. Our customer service is available, of course, Monday thru Friday to answer questions.

Extend the life of your tack cloths by putting them in baby food jars or ziplock storage bags. Wipe the clear sheild of your safety glasses with a dryer static cling sheet -- it will keep sawdust from sticking to them! Cloths used to wipe stain can be safely air dried in a well ventilated area away from pets and children. Covering the back side of sandpaper with duct tape will make it last MUCH longer. Use a moist cloth to slightly dampen your hands before feeding stock through a cutter -- it gives you a much better grip on the stock. Keep your stains and glues from freezing in your non-heated workshop by storing them in a plastic food cooler. Neat! Petroleum jelly and cooking oils make perfect inexpensive, non-toxic light stains for projects. If you have to bend small pieces of wood, wrap them in a damp towel and put them in the microwave for 2 minutes on high -- be certain no metal is present. Dented wood can often be repaired by heating a damp cloth with an iron over the dent...the wood will expand, filling the hole. Keep your saw blades clean at all times. A gooey blade can cause dangerous kick back. Abrasive wheels can be cleaned of goo with cooking spray -- it also helps prevent buildup of particulate matter.
