You can build this simple picnic table so that the benches are connected to the table, or separate. Very easy to make using standard sizes of lumber and standard hardware.

Instructions are included, along with a list of materials. Size as built is 5 or 6' long (your choice) for the table and benches, with a 33" table height.

If you have to bend small pieces of wood, wrap them in a damp towel and put them in the microwave for 2 minutes on high -- be certain no metal is present. Old croquet mallets, cut down to size, make inexpensive backup woodworking mallets! A roll up window blind or shade is a perfect place to store woodworking plans -- just tape them down and let the shade roll them up. White pencils are very useful in woodworking...they make easy to see lines on darker wood stocks. The tips of different sizes of nails can be used as drill bits, working well on most wood stocks. Covering the back side of sandpaper with duct tape will make it last MUCH longer. Dented wood can often be repaired by heating a damp cloth with an iron over the dent...the wood will expand, filling the hole. Measure twice, cut once -- the paramount rule of building! Keep your saw blades clean at all times. A gooey blade can cause dangerous kick back. Wipe the clear sheild of your safety glasses with a dryer static cling sheet -- it will keep sawdust from sticking to them! Welcome fellow woodworker! Extend the life of your tack cloths by putting them in baby food jars or ziplock storage bags. Keep your stains and glues from freezing in your non-heated workshop by storing them in a plastic food cooler. Neat! Abrasive wheels can be cleaned of goo with cooking spray -- it also helps prevent buildup of particulate matter. Petroleum jelly and cooking oils make perfect inexpensive, non-toxic light stains for projects. Keep your table saw push stick close at hand by fastening it to the front of your saw table with velcro or magnets so you can quickly grab it when needed. Use a moist cloth to slightly dampen your hands before feeding stock through a cutter -- it gives you a much better grip on the stock.
