Cloths used to wipe stain can be safely air dried in a well ventilated area away from pets and children. Call 1-800-296-6256 Mon-Fri from 8am to 2pm, EST, with your question or order. White pencils are very useful in woodworking...they make easy to see lines on darker wood stocks. Abrasive wheels can be cleaned of goo with cooking spray -- it also helps prevent buildup of particulate matter. Wipe the clear sheild of your safety glasses with a dryer static cling sheet -- it will keep sawdust from sticking to them! Did you know you can Mail-In your order? Check the left of the page for a Mail-In Orderform link. Keep your saw blades clean at all times. A gooey blade can cause dangerous kick back. Dented wood can often be repaired by heating a damp cloth with an iron over the dent...the wood will expand, filling the hole. Petroleum jelly and cooking oils make perfect inexpensive, non-toxic light stains for projects. Welcome fellow woodworker! Keep your stains and glues from freezing in your non-heated workshop by storing them in a plastic food cooler. Neat! Extend the life of your tack cloths by putting them in baby food jars or ziplock storage bags. A roll up window blind or shade is a perfect place to store woodworking plans -- just tape them down and let the shade roll them up. Easily remove rusted screws by heating the head with a soltering iron -- it will expand, then contract making it easy to remove. Covering the back side of sandpaper with duct tape will make it last MUCH longer. Use a moist cloth to slightly dampen your hands before feeding stock through a cutter -- it gives you a much better grip on the stock. Old croquet mallets, cut down to size, make inexpensive backup woodworking mallets! The tips of different sizes of nails can be used as drill bits, working well on most wood stocks.
