Even if you're not experienced with the scrollsaw, this is a good project for you -- it's a great way to make an heirloom which will be passed down through your family for years to come and it's a great way to practice on the scrollsaw. . .it's a pretty easy cut. . .and if you make a mistake, well, you're not wasting a big chunk of money or material.

If you have to bend small pieces of wood, wrap them in a damp towel and put them in the microwave for 2 minutes on high -- be certain no metal is present.
