Having said this, construction is either butt joint or simple dado -- both easily cut with a stock table saw. A hand held jigsaw or bandsaw can be used to cut the scrolled portions. Most any woodcrafter can be successful with this plan and just a bit of patience. You may need to buy a few clamps if you want to glue boards to make up the wider side panels.
