The high chair project this plan lays out is a time-tested design. Many high chairs were in this style and many are still in use. It's easy to make, so any level woodworker can tackle this economical project and not fear horrible frustration because if you make a mistake, you are not going to be out a fortune in material as plywood is the main order.

Keep your table saw push stick close at hand by fastening it to the front of your saw table with velcro or magnets so you can quickly grab it when needed. Abrasive wheels can be cleaned of goo with cooking spray -- it also helps prevent buildup of particulate matter. Dented wood can often be repaired by heating a damp cloth with an iron over the dent...the wood will expand, filling the hole. Petroleum jelly and cooking oils make perfect inexpensive, non-toxic light stains for projects. Cloths used to wipe stain can be safely air dried in a well ventilated area away from pets and children. Use a moist cloth to slightly dampen your hands before feeding stock through a cutter -- it gives you a much better grip on the stock. Old croquet mallets, cut down to size, make inexpensive backup woodworking mallets! A roll up window blind or shade is a perfect place to store woodworking plans -- just tape them down and let the shade roll them up. Wipe the clear sheild of your safety glasses with a dryer static cling sheet -- it will keep sawdust from sticking to them! A gooey blade can cause dangerous kick back. White pencils are very useful in woodworking...they make easy to see lines on darker wood stocks. Extend the life of your tack cloths by putting them in baby food jars or ziplock storage bags. Measure twice, cut once -- the paramount rule of building! Keep your stains and glues from freezing in your non-heated workshop by storing them in a plastic food cooler. Neat! Easily remove rusted screws by heating the head with a soltering iron -- it will expand, then contract making it easy to remove.
