Long before iceboxes became a common household item, frugal homemakers everywhere stored their bread and pastries in a pie safe. Still good for their original purpose, as well as many other storage uses, pie safes make a great addition to any country kitchen -- they even make for interesting bathroom or hallway storage. The plan lists a source for pre-punched tin panels, but it also includes a pattern so that you might punch your own tin if you prefer. All cuts are straight, but we would say this is an intermediate level project because of the tin panels. The plans guide you with instrucitons, a list of the materials you need, measured drawings, and exploded diagrams. The careful beginner can do this project -- a popular project which will be useful and valued. Finished project is 59" high x 20" wide x 14" deep.
