Measure twice, cut once -- the paramount rule of building! Dented wood can often be repaired by heating a damp cloth with an iron over the dent...the wood will expand, filling the hole. Easily remove rusted screws by heating the head with a soltering iron -- it will expand, then contract making it easy to remove. Petroleum jelly and cooking oils make perfect inexpensive, non-toxic light stains for projects. If you have to bend small pieces of wood, wrap them in a damp towel and put them in the microwave for 2 minutes on high -- be certain no metal is present. Wipe the clear sheild of your safety glasses with a dryer static cling sheet -- it will keep sawdust from sticking to them!
