Plantation Shutter Plans
[CW-6002]
$8.00

Our customers have been beating our door down for a plan to help them build plantation style shutters for their windows. Here it is -- a versatile shutter plan which allows mass production of shutters.

Let's face it, making a louvered shutter or door can be a complicated and tedious task. Just imagine fitting 25 or more little louvers into dadoes or rabbets! Painstaking. However, this plan provides a neat alternative idea on how to mass produce shutters like the ones pictured here production line style by using only a table saw or router.

The plan provides a jig idea, an explanation of the process, some photos to aid understanding, a few bonus tips about outdoor maintenence, and several designs which will show you how to build any size shutter or door for any application. Skill level is intermediate, but the process is easy enough to understand. Once you get a jig set up, it's smooth sailing.

Neat!            Cloths used to wipe stain can be safely air dried in a well ventilated area away from pets and children.            Easily remove rusted screws by heating the head with a soltering iron -- it will expand, then contract making it easy to remove.            A roll up window blind or shade is a perfect place to store woodworking plans -- just tape them down and let the shade roll them up.            Wipe the clear sheild of your safety glasses with a dryer static cling sheet -- it will keep sawdust from sticking to them!            Dented wood can often be repaired by heating a damp cloth with an iron over the dent...the wood will expand, filling the hole.            Use a moist cloth to slightly dampen your hands before feeding stock through a cutter -- it gives you a much better grip on the stock.            Did you know you can Mail-In your order? Check the left of the page for a Mail-In Orderform link.            Petroleum jelly and cooking oils make perfect inexpensive, non-toxic light stains for projects.            Keep your table saw push stick close at hand by fastening it to the front of your saw table with velcro or magnets so you can quickly grab it when needed.            Extend the life of your tack cloths by putting them in baby food jars or ziplock storage bags.            Sign up for FREE Email Sale Alerts and save 10-30% on plans from time to time. A gooey blade can cause dangerous kick back.            If you have to bend small pieces of wood, wrap them in a damp towel and put them in the microwave for 2 minutes on high -- be certain no metal is present.
