It may not be as hard to build this gazebo as one might think. If you've built a deck, you can likely breeze through this project -- and if you're just a handy woodworker like most of us around here, these plans really put this project within reach. Just do like we would and take your sweet old time about it! You'll probably want a buddy to help with the roof.

A full list of the necessary building materials is provided, along with large fold-out measured drawings, instructions for building, and other useful information. The gazebo is octagon in shape and measures 11-1/2' wide from flat to flat. Stands about 15' tall.

Dented wood can often be repaired by heating a damp cloth with an iron over the dent...the wood will expand, filling the hole. Wipe the clear sheild of your safety glasses with a dryer static cling sheet -- it will keep sawdust from sticking to them! Extend the life of your tack cloths by putting them in baby food jars or ziplock storage bags. If you have to bend small pieces of wood, wrap them in a damp towel and put them in the microwave for 2 minutes on high -- be certain no metal is present. Keep your table saw push stick close at hand by fastening it to the front of your saw table with velcro or magnets so you can quickly grab it when needed. Keep your saw blades clean at all times. A gooey blade can cause dangerous kick back. Cloths used to wipe stain can be safely air dried in a well ventilated area away from pets and children. Welcome fellow woodworker! Petroleum jelly and cooking oils make perfect inexpensive, non-toxic light stains for projects. Old croquet mallets, cut down to size, make inexpensive backup woodworking mallets! Use a moist cloth to slightly dampen your hands before feeding stock through a cutter -- it gives you a much better grip on the stock.
