The modular deck planter bench has been a very popular design with our customers. The planter boxes are 20" square and are 17" tall, so there's plenty of room for your favorite flowers or other plants. As called for by the plan, the benches are 36" long, but this is a dimension that is easily expanded or contracted. The plan comes with detailed instructions for building and cutting, a list of the materials you need, some photos, and measured drawings -- we're always an email away, too.

Keep your stains and glues from freezing in your non-heated workshop by storing them in a plastic food cooler. Neat! Covering the back side of sandpaper with duct tape will make it last MUCH longer. The tips of different sizes of nails can be used as drill bits, working well on most wood stocks. Use a moist cloth to slightly dampen your hands before feeding stock through a cutter -- it gives you a much better grip on the stock. White pencils are very useful in woodworking...they make easy to see lines on darker wood stocks. Petroleum jelly and cooking oils make perfect inexpensive, non-toxic light stains for projects. A roll up window blind or shade is a perfect place to store woodworking plans -- just tape them down and let the shade roll them up. Extend the life of your tack cloths by putting them in baby food jars or ziplock storage bags. Welcome fellow woodworker! Easily remove rusted screws by heating the head with a soltering iron -- it will expand, then contract making it easy to remove.
