Extend the life of your tack cloths by putting them in baby food jars or ziplock storage bags. Cloths used to wipe stain can be safely air dried in a well ventilated area away from pets and children. Abrasive wheels can be cleaned of goo with cooking spray -- it also helps prevent buildup of particulate matter. Easily remove rusted screws by heating the head with a soltering iron -- it will expand, then contract making it easy to remove. Dented wood can often be repaired by heating a damp cloth with an iron over the dent...the wood will expand, filling the hole. Keep your stains and glues from freezing in your non-heated workshop by storing them in a plastic food cooler. Neat! Petroleum jelly and cooking oils make perfect inexpensive, non-toxic light stains for projects. A roll up window blind or shade is a perfect place to store woodworking plans -- just tape them down and let the shade roll them up.
