Use a moist cloth to slightly dampen your hands before feeding stock through a cutter -- it gives you a much better grip on the stock. If you have to bend small pieces of wood, wrap them in a damp towel and put them in the microwave for 2 minutes on high -- be certain no metal is present. Easily remove rusted screws by heating the head with a soltering iron -- it will expand, then contract making it easy to remove. Covering the back side of sandpaper with duct tape will make it last MUCH longer. Old croquet mallets, cut down to size, make inexpensive backup woodworking mallets! Dented wood can often be repaired by heating a damp cloth with an iron over the dent...the wood will expand, filling the hole. Measure twice, cut once -- the paramount rule of building!
