This elegant 35-1/2" tall piece is designed with two fixed 13" deep x 21" wide shelves for displaying books, collectibles, or other accessories. Notched boards under the lectern top receive pawls which allow adjustment from laying flat up to three angles of pitch for reference work or display. A handsome project for any woodworker, featuring turned posts for the lathe enthusiast. No lathe? No problem, just make the legs square. Great project.

This is a blueprint style plan which is heralded by beginners and experts alike as being a pleasure to work from because all parts are printed in full size -- all joinery is shown in actual size, curved workpieces are all in full size, therefore you can measure and trace straight from the drawing if necessary. A bill of materials doubles as an exact cutting list, there is a detailed exploded diagram, and all hardware requirements are provided. Abrasive wheels can be cleaned of goo with cooking spray -- it also helps prevent buildup of particulate matter. If you have to bend small pieces of wood, wrap them in a damp towel and put them in the microwave for 2 minutes on high -- be certain no metal is present. Petroleum jelly and cooking oils make perfect inexpensive, non-toxic light stains for projects. Covering the back side of sandpaper with duct tape will make it last MUCH longer. Use a moist cloth to slightly dampen your hands before feeding stock through a cutter -- it gives you a much better grip on the stock.
