Eight guns can be displayed behind the double glass doors of this fine piece. This cabinet has won blue ribbons at competitions for many woodworkers. The styling goes well with most modern and country decor, pending finishing techniques and lumber selection. The base cabinet doors lock separately. For a slightly different look, change the lower door faces as did the customer who sent the color photo seen left. Intermediate to advanced in skill level, this project is something to be proud of and use in everyday life.

As you can see, the plans are quite modifiable, as one customer changed the molded doors to raised panel as shown here, and another turned his "gun cabinet" into a wine cabinet, as is pictured below the main photo. Dimensions: 14" deep, 38" wide, 73" high.

This is a blueprint style plan which is heralded by beginners and experts alike as being a pleasure to work from because all parts are printed in full size -- all joinery is shown in actual size, curved workpieces are all in full size, therefore you can measure and trace straight from the drawing if necessary. A bill of materials doubles as an exact cutting list, there is a detailed exploded diagram, and all hardware requirements are provided. The exploded diagram so detailed that project specific assembly instructions are not provided. A special booklet entitled Guide to Building Wood Furniture is included with each Furniture Designs, Inc. plan and includes many tips explaining the "component theory" of woodworking.

Cloths used to wipe stain can be safely air dried in a well ventilated area away from pets and children. Petroleum jelly and cooking oils make perfect inexpensive, non-toxic light stains for projects. Keep your stains and glues from freezing in your non-heated workshop by storing them in a plastic food cooler. Neat! Extend the life of your tack cloths by putting them in baby food jars or ziplock storage bags. Keep your table saw push stick close at hand by fastening it to the front of your saw table with velcro or magnets so you can quickly grab it when needed. Covering the back side of sandpaper with duct tape will make it last MUCH longer. Dented wood can often be repaired by heating a damp cloth with an iron over the dent...the wood will expand, filling the hole. A roll up window blind or shade is a perfect place to store woodworking plans -- just tape them down and let the shade roll them up. Wipe the clear sheild of your safety glasses with a dryer static cling sheet -- it will keep sawdust from sticking to them!
