Knock Down Bookcase Plans
[AH-7330]
$14.00

The book shelf this plan helps you build is held together without using any permanent joinery or hardware, so it "knocks-down" for easy moving and storage -- it's also very sturdy.

Bookshelf is 47-1/2" wide, 13-1/2" deep, 36-1/2" high. The plans you receive have large format measured drawings, a materials list, plus a super-detailed photo instruction booklet.

The shelves rest on dowels in the end frames, making the whole unit easy to disassemble by lifting the shelves off the end frames. A few woodworking tricks described in the booklet will sturdy the unit right up and keep the shelves from bowing under the weight of books.

Check the left of the page for a link.            Welcome fellow woodworker!            Keep your saw blades clean at all times. A gooey blade can cause dangerous kick back.            Keep your stains and glues from freezing in your non-heated workshop by storing them in a plastic food cooler. Neat!            Keep your table saw push stick close at hand by fastening it to the front of your saw table with velcro or magnets so you can quickly grab it when needed.            Easily remove rusted screws by heating the head with a soltering iron -- it will expand, then contract making it easy to remove.            Abrasive wheels can be cleaned of goo with cooking spray -- it also helps prevent buildup of particulate matter.            Wipe the clear sheild of your safety glasses with a dryer static cling sheet -- it will keep sawdust from sticking to them!            A roll up window blind or shade is a perfect place to store woodworking plans -- just tape them down and let the shade roll them up.            Covering the back side of sandpaper with duct tape will make it last MUCH longer.            Old croquet mallets, cut down to size, make inexpensive backup woodworking mallets!            Dented wood can often be repaired by heating a damp cloth with an iron over the dent...the wood will expand, filling the hole.            Use a moist cloth to slightly dampen your hands before feeding stock through a cutter -- it gives you a much better grip on the stock.            The tips of different sizes of nails can be used as drill bits, working well on most wood stocks.            Cloths used to wipe stain can be safely air dried in a well ventilated area away from pets and children.            Extend the life of your tack cloths by putting them in baby food jars or ziplock storage bags.            If you have to bend small pieces of wood, wrap them in a damp towel and put them in the microwave for 2 minutes on high -- be certain no metal is present.            Measure twice, cut once -- the paramount rule of building!
