A fine example of an 18th century harvest table, this piece looks great in cherry, maple, or white oak. With both leaves raised, the table is 42-1/2" wide. With the leaves down, the table is a superb sideboard at just 23" wide and it easily seats six to eight adults with 72" of length. If space is a concern, the narrow style of a harvest table is ideal.

This is a blueprint style plan which is heralded by beginners and experts alike as being a pleasure to work from because all parts are printed in full size -- all joinery is shown in actual size, curved workpieces are all in full size, therefore you can measure and trace straight from the drawing if necessary. A bill of materials doubles as an exact cutting list, there is a detailed exploded diagram, and all hardware requirements are provided. The exploded diagram so detailed that project specific assembly instructions are not provided. Petroleum jelly and cooking oils make perfect inexpensive, non-toxic light stains for projects. Dented wood can often be repaired by heating a damp cloth with an iron over the dent...the wood will expand, filling the hole. Use a moist cloth to slightly dampen your hands before feeding stock through a cutter -- it gives you a much better grip on the stock. Old croquet mallets, cut down to size, make inexpensive backup woodworking mallets! Measure twice, cut once -- the paramount rule of building! Keep your saw blades clean at all times. A gooey blade can cause dangerous kick back. Cloths used to wipe stain can be safely air dried in a well ventilated area away from pets and children. Easily remove rusted screws by heating the head with a soltering iron -- it will expand, then contract making it easy to remove. If you have to bend small pieces of wood, wrap them in a damp towel and put them in the microwave for 2 minutes on high -- be certain no metal is present. A roll up window blind or shade is a perfect place to store woodworking plans -- just tape them down and let the shade roll them up.
