Glider Bench Plans
[FD-721]
$12.00

A classic design to liven your yard, patio, or deck, this attractive and comfortable piece is designed to furnish smooth, easy gliding. The plan itself gives full size detail on how to build your own glider hardware, or you can purchase it from woodworking suppliers everywhere. It has a roomy 48" wide seat and can be painted, stained, or left unfinished to weather a silver gray if you choose to use cedar or other appropriate lumber. Dimensions: 55" wide, 26" deep, 31-7/8" high.

All joinery is shown in actual size, curved workpieces are all in full size and you can measure and trace straight from the drawing. A bill of materials doubles as an exact cutting list, there is a detailed exploded diagram, and all hardware requirements are provided. The exploded diagram is so detailed that project specific assembly instructions are not provided. A special booklet entitled Guide to Building Wood Furniture is included with each Furniture Designs, Inc. plan and includes many tips explaining the "component theory" of woodworking.

Check the left of the page for a Mail-In Orderform link.            Extend the life of your tack cloths by putting them in baby food jars or ziplock storage bags.            Easily remove rusted screws by heating the head with a soltering iron -- it will expand, then contract making it easy to remove.            Keep your stains and glues from freezing in your non-heated workshop by storing them in a plastic food cooler. Neat!            Covering the back side of sandpaper with duct tape will make it last MUCH longer.            Wipe the clear sheild of your safety glasses with a dryer static cling sheet -- it will keep sawdust from sticking to them!            The tips of different sizes of nails can be used as drill bits, working well on most wood stocks.            Dented wood can often be repaired by heating a damp cloth with an iron over the dent...the wood will expand, filling the hole.            Old croquet mallets, cut down to size, make inexpensive backup woodworking mallets!            Keep your table saw push stick close at hand by fastening it to the front of your saw table with velcro or magnets so you can quickly grab it when needed.            Petroleum jelly and cooking oils make perfect inexpensive, non-toxic light stains for projects.            Cloths used to wipe stain can be safely air dried in a well ventilated area away from pets and children.            Welcome fellow woodworker!            Welcome fellow woodworker!
