You will have fun tinkering with the several options these plans provide. The plans detail two beautiful feeders: both an octagon (18" x16") and a hexagon (16" x 21"). Also included are details for two different styles of portable bases -- all is pictured to the left.

These are large birdfeeders which can accomodate many birds at once. The finished pieces are exquisite enough to grace most any yard. Plans come with full size patterns for curved pieces, plus you get instructions, material lists, and assembly diagrams.

White pencils are very useful in woodworking...they make easy to see lines on darker wood stocks. A roll up window blind or shade is a perfect place to store woodworking plans -- just tape them down and let the shade roll them up. Wipe the clear sheild of your safety glasses with a dryer static cling sheet -- it will keep sawdust from sticking to them! The tips of different sizes of nails can be used as drill bits, working well on most wood stocks. Keep your table saw push stick close at hand by fastening it to the front of your saw table with velcro or magnets so you can quickly grab it when needed. Old croquet mallets, cut down to size, make inexpensive backup woodworking mallets! Keep your saw blades clean at all times. A gooey blade can cause dangerous kick back. Keep your stains and glues from freezing in your non-heated workshop by storing them in a plastic food cooler. Neat! Use a moist cloth to slightly dampen your hands before feeding stock through a cutter -- it gives you a much better grip on the stock. Dented wood can often be repaired by heating a damp cloth with an iron over the dent...the wood will expand, filling the hole. Petroleum jelly and cooking oils make perfect inexpensive, non-toxic light stains for projects. Easily remove rusted screws by heating the head with a soltering iron -- it will expand, then contract making it easy to remove. Abrasive wheels can be cleaned of goo with cooking spray -- it also helps prevent buildup of particulate matter. Covering the back side of sandpaper with duct tape will make it last MUCH longer.
