Beginners need not fear this project. Full size patterns, instructions, and diagrams see that your trouble is minimized. The wishing well stands 41" tall, so it's a great size for gardens and flowerbeds, but perhaps not the best choice for the middle of a large yard.

Build from cedar as pictured for outside weathering. Project is inexpensive to build and you can do it in one weekend. We have plenty more wishing well plans, so look around!

Covering the back side of sandpaper with duct tape will make it last MUCH longer. Dented wood can often be repaired by heating a damp cloth with an iron over the dent...the wood will expand, filling the hole. Check the left of the page for a link. Use a moist cloth to slightly dampen your hands before feeding stock through a cutter -- it gives you a much better grip on the stock. Keep your table saw push stick close at hand by fastening it to the front of your saw table with velcro or magnets so you can quickly grab it when needed. Keep your saw blades clean at all times. A gooey blade can cause dangerous kick back. White pencils are very useful in woodworking...they make easy to see lines on darker wood stocks. Easily remove rusted screws by heating the head with a soltering iron -- it will expand, then contract making it easy to remove. Cloths used to wipe stain can be safely air dried in a well ventilated area away from pets and children. The tips of different sizes of nails can be used as drill bits, working well on most wood stocks. Measure twice, cut once -- the paramount rule of building! A roll up window blind or shade is a perfect place to store woodworking plans -- just tape them down and let the shade roll them up. Keep your stains and glues from freezing in your non-heated workshop by storing them in a plastic food cooler. Neat!
