From the editors of a popular woodworking magazine, there were several designs tested for this concept drill press jig and the "L" shape was the final decision. Setup allows you to perform numerous drill press processes with impressive precision. Plus, jigs always make things easier and you're generally sure to save some time.

The jig table is designed to fit 10" and larger drill presses. It will not fit on 8" models, so be sure to find out your size. A buying guide for all of the hardware needed is included with the plan, but most could be fashioned at home. Vertical drilling, clamped drilling.

If you have to bend small pieces of wood, wrap them in a damp towel and put them in the microwave for 2 minutes on high -- be certain no metal is present. The tips of different sizes of nails can be used as drill bits, working well on most wood stocks. A roll up window blind or shade is a perfect place to store woodworking plans -- just tape them down and let the shade roll them up. Keep your table saw push stick close at hand by fastening it to the front of your saw table with velcro or magnets so you can quickly grab it when needed. White pencils are very useful in woodworking...they make easy to see lines on darker wood stocks. Keep your stains and glues from freezing in your non-heated workshop by storing them in a plastic food cooler. Neat! Covering the back side of sandpaper with duct tape will make it last MUCH longer. Cloths used to wipe stain can be safely air dried in a well ventilated area away from pets and children.
