Extend the life of your tack cloths by putting them in baby food jars or ziplock storage bags. If you have to bend small pieces of wood, wrap them in a damp towel and put them in the microwave for 2 minutes on high -- be certain no metal is present. Cloths used to wipe stain can be safely air dried in a well ventilated area away from pets and children. A roll up window blind or shade is a perfect place to store woodworking plans -- just tape them down and let the shade roll them up. Easily remove rusted screws by heating the head with a soltering iron -- it will expand, then contract making it easy to remove. The tips of different sizes of nails can be used as drill bits, working well on most wood stocks. Dented wood can often be repaired by heating a damp cloth with an iron over the dent...the wood will expand, filling the hole. Measure twice, cut once -- the paramount rule of building!
