2 Door Ice Box Plans
[U-686]
$10.00

Before there were refridgerators, there were ice boxes. A box with ice. . .that's what kept the milk from spoiling and kept the veggies fresh! Just as the dry sink is no longer used in the kitchen, neither are ice boxes. They do make neat furniture, though, you can make!

Plans for this historically accurate piece include a list of materials you need, instructions for cutting and building, photos of construction, and exploded diagrams. The finished size of the project is 38" tall, 24" wide, and 16" deep. A good intermediate level project. Hardware is available from many sources including Van Dyke's Restorers.

A roll up window blind or shade is a perfect place to store woodworking plans -- just tape them down and let the shade roll them up.            Dented wood can often be repaired by heating a damp cloth with an iron over the dent...the wood will expand, filling the hole.            Sign up for FREE Email Sale Alerts and save 10-30% on plans from time to time. Check the left of the page for a link.            Call 1-800-296-6256 Mon-Fri from 8am to 2pm, EST, with your question or order.            Our low-cost First Class shipping is only $3.5o -- most plans parcels arrive to U.S.A. customers in just 3-5 days.            Cloths used to wipe stain can be safely air dried in a well ventilated area away from pets and children.            Wipe the clear sheild of your safety glasses with a dryer static cling sheet -- it will keep sawdust from sticking to them!            The tips of different sizes of nails can be used as drill bits, working well on most wood stocks.            Extend the life of your tack cloths by putting them in baby food jars or ziplock storage bags.            Old croquet mallets, cut down to size, make inexpensive backup woodworking mallets!            Easily remove rusted screws by heating the head with a soltering iron -- it will expand, then contract making it easy to remove.            White pencils are very useful in woodworking...they make easy to see lines on darker wood stocks.            Keep your saw blades clean at all times. A gooey blade can cause dangerous kick back.            If you have to bend small pieces of wood, wrap them in a damp towel and put them in the microwave for 2 minutes on high -- be certain no metal is present.            Petroleum jelly and cooking oils make perfect inexpensive, non-toxic light stains for projects.            Welcome fellow woodworker!            Abrasive wheels can be cleaned of goo with cooking spray -- it also helps prevent buildup of particulate matter.            Measure twice, cut once -- the paramount rule of building!            Welcome fellow woodworker!            Did you know you can Mail-In your order? Check the left of the page for a Mail-In Orderform link.            Covering the back side of sandpaper with duct tape will make it last MUCH longer.            Keep your table saw push stick close at hand by fastening it to the front of your saw table with velcro or magnets so you can quickly grab it when needed.            Keep your stains and glues from freezing in your non-heated workshop by storing them in a plastic food cooler. Neat!            Use a moist cloth to slightly dampen your hands before feeding stock through a cutter -- it gives you a much better grip on the stock.
