If you have to bend small pieces of wood, wrap them in a damp towel and put them in the microwave for 2 minutes on high -- be certain no metal is present. Petroleum jelly and cooking oils make perfect inexpensive, non-toxic light stains for projects. Dented wood can often be repaired by heating a damp cloth with an iron over the dent...the wood will expand, filling the hole. A roll up window blind or shade is a perfect place to store woodworking plans -- just tape them down and let the shade roll them up.
