Daffodil Intarsia Wood Kit
[KW-D1]
$20.00

Still under 20 pieces to cut, another great project for beginners. Everything is included for you to get started out of the box -- full size patterns with adhesive back, easy to understand instructions, and all of the wood you need already cut to the perfect beginning size. Makes a great gift for yourself or a special someone. 5.5" wide.

If you're new to intarsia, there are few better scrollers than Kathy Wise to introduce you to the system. If you can use a scrollsaw, you can make a beautiful intarsia project like the ones pictured below. The intarsia process is like making a detailed puzzle. You cut the "puzzle pieces" with your scroll saw, then you shape the pieces with a sanding device to give them some depth -- a three dimensional appearance -- usually you just round the edges.

This Intarsia Kit comes with: All wood required for the project (in easy-to-cut squares), full size patterns with adhesive backing, and crystal clear instructions that will guide and teach the Intarsia beginner.

We have a nice DVD presentation on the intarsia process.

Please Note:  Due to weight, this product must be shipped by Priority Mail ($5.5o total S&H fee, instead of $3.5o). If you forget to choose Priority Mail during checkout, we will select it for you.  Sorry, but this is heavy!

Use a moist cloth to slightly dampen your hands before feeding stock through a cutter -- it gives you a much better grip on the stock.            Extend the life of your tack cloths by putting them in baby food jars or ziplock storage bags.            White pencils are very useful in woodworking...they make easy to see lines on darker wood stocks.            Keep your stains and glues from freezing in your non-heated workshop by storing them in a plastic food cooler. Neat!            Call 1-800-296-6256 Mon-Fri from 8am to 2pm, EST, with your question or order.            A roll up window blind or shade is a perfect place to store woodworking plans -- just tape them down and let the shade roll them up.            Welcome fellow woodworker!            Petroleum jelly and cooking oils make perfect inexpensive, non-toxic light stains for projects.            Old croquet mallets, cut down to size, make inexpensive backup woodworking mallets!            Keep your table saw push stick close at hand by fastening it to the front of your saw table with velcro or magnets so you can quickly grab it when needed.            Keep your saw blades clean at all times. A gooey blade can cause dangerous kick back.            Did you know you can Mail-In your order? Check the left of the page for a Mail-In Orderform link.            Dented wood can often be repaired by heating a damp cloth with an iron over the dent...the wood will expand, filling the hole.            Our low-cost First Class shipping is only $3.5o -- most plans parcels arrive to U.S.A. customers in just 3-5 days.            Sign up for FREE Email Sale Alerts and save 10-30% on plans from time to time. Check the left of the page for a link.            Welcome fellow woodworker!            Abrasive wheels can be cleaned of goo with cooking spray -- it also helps prevent buildup of particulate matter.            The tips of different sizes of nails can be used as drill bits, working well on most wood stocks.            Cloths used to wipe stain can be safely air dried in a well ventilated area away from pets and children.            Covering the back side of sandpaper with duct tape will make it last MUCH longer.            If you have to bend small pieces of wood, wrap them in a damp towel and put them in the microwave for 2 minutes on high -- be certain no metal is present.            Wipe the clear sheild of your safety glasses with a dryer static cling sheet -- it will keep sawdust from sticking to them!            Measure twice, cut once -- the paramount rule of building!            Easily remove rusted screws by heating the head with a soltering iron -- it will expand, then contract making it easy to remove.
