Build this project and beautify your mail receptacle (somewhere you go everyday). Paint your mailbox with outdoor latex paint for a smooth finish, or choose to make it from cedar and stain it to richness as pictured here. You really get two plans for one with this project, the second plan being the planter seen at the base of the mailbox. Build the planter as shown in the picture, or build a set of planters separately for your deck or patio area.

The mailbox itself is 16" tall and 27" deep. A materials list, measured drawings, and step by step construction instructions are provided. Great project for any skill level.

Petroleum jelly and cooking oils make perfect inexpensive, non-toxic light stains for projects.
