Covering the back side of sandpaper with duct tape will make it last MUCH longer. Petroleum jelly and cooking oils make perfect inexpensive, non-toxic light stains for projects. Keep your table saw push stick close at hand by fastening it to the front of your saw table with velcro or magnets so you can quickly grab it when needed. Cloths used to wipe stain can be safely air dried in a well ventilated area away from pets and children. Wipe the clear sheild of your safety glasses with a dryer static cling sheet -- it will keep sawdust from sticking to them! Use a moist cloth to slightly dampen your hands before feeding stock through a cutter -- it gives you a much better grip on the stock. Welcome fellow woodworker! Extend the life of your tack cloths by putting them in baby food jars or ziplock storage bags. A roll up window blind or shade is a perfect place to store woodworking plans -- just tape them down and let the shade roll them up.
