The Chipmunk woodburning project pattern is 5.5" x 7". You can keep it at this size, for use on the included basswood panel, or easily enlarge it for other use.

Petroleum jelly and cooking oils make perfect inexpensive, non-toxic light stains for projects. Old croquet mallets, cut down to size, make inexpensive backup woodworking mallets! Extend the life of your tack cloths by putting them in baby food jars or ziplock storage bags. Cloths used to wipe stain can be safely air dried in a well ventilated area away from pets and children. Abrasive wheels can be cleaned of goo with cooking spray -- it also helps prevent buildup of particulate matter. If you have to bend small pieces of wood, wrap them in a damp towel and put them in the microwave for 2 minutes on high -- be certain no metal is present. Use a moist cloth to slightly dampen your hands before feeding stock through a cutter -- it gives you a much better grip on the stock. Easily remove rusted screws by heating the head with a soltering iron -- it will expand, then contract making it easy to remove. Dented wood can often be repaired by heating a damp cloth with an iron over the dent...the wood will expand, filling the hole. Wipe the clear sheild of your safety glasses with a dryer static cling sheet -- it will keep sawdust from sticking to them! Covering the back side of sandpaper with duct tape will make it last MUCH longer. White pencils are very useful in woodworking...they make easy to see lines on darker wood stocks.
