The Barnsider Birdhouse is styled after a classic gambrel roof barn. The birdhouse is large enough, at 12" square and 10" high, to house several feathered guests. It's a great project for the beginner, but is satisfying for any skill level. A bit of paint will turn this little project into a focal point of the backyard. A red barn with white for the trim pieces is classic. A coat of polyeurethane for weather protection and you're all set for bird watching.

Keep your stains and glues from freezing in your non-heated workshop by storing them in a plastic food cooler. Neat!
