You get four plans with this collection of birdhouse plans: a large apartment style house with four compartments (11" tall), a wren house (6" tall), a blue jay house (9" tall), and a huge four-course bird feeder (21" wide, 28" long).

All of these projects are fun and useful, interesting to make. The large format 3' x 2' plans include the following for each project: measured drawings, exploded diagrams, materials lists, and instructions. Unlike the rest of our plans, these plans do not provide full size patterns -- the geometrical nature of each piece allows for simple ruler measurements to be made for rendering the necessary shapes. If you have to bend small pieces of wood, wrap them in a damp towel and put them in the microwave for 2 minutes on high -- be certain no metal is present. Dented wood can often be repaired by heating a damp cloth with an iron over the dent...the wood will expand, filling the hole. Keep your saw blades clean at all times. A gooey blade can cause dangerous kick back. Petroleum jelly and cooking oils make perfect inexpensive, non-toxic light stains for projects. Wipe the clear sheild of your safety glasses with a dryer static cling sheet -- it will keep sawdust from sticking to them! Keep your table saw push stick close at hand by fastening it to the front of your saw table with velcro or magnets so you can quickly grab it when needed. Old croquet mallets, cut down to size, make inexpensive backup woodworking mallets! Covering the back side of sandpaper with duct tape will make it last MUCH longer.
