Build two of these useful cabinets (plan # 732) -- one for either side of your entertainment center, or use as a stand alone bookcase. Simple joinery and construction makes for a great intermediate woodworking project. Compliment your current entertainment system by using this for media storage. Overall dimensions: 54" tall, 20" wide, and 15" deep. Here you are only buying the wing cabinet plan.

This is a blueprint style plan which is heralded by beginners and experts alike as being a pleasure to work from because all parts are printed in full size -- all joinery is shown in actual size, curved workpieces are all in full size, therefore you can measure and trace straight from the drawing if necessary. A bill of materials doubles as an exact cutting list, there is a detailed exploded diagram, and all hardware requirements are provided. The exploded diagram so detailed that project specific assembly instructions are not provided. A special booklet entitled Guide to Building Wood Furniture is included with each Furniture Designs, Inc. plan and includes many tips explaining the "component theory" of woodworking.

Use a moist cloth to slightly dampen your hands before feeding stock through a cutter -- it gives you a much better grip on the stock. Keep your stains and glues from freezing in your non-heated workshop by storing them in a plastic food cooler. Neat! A roll up window blind or shade is a perfect place to store woodworking plans -- just tape them down and let the shade roll them up. Cloths used to wipe stain can be safely air dried in a well ventilated area away from pets and children. White pencils are very useful in woodworking...they make easy to see lines on darker wood stocks. Extend the life of your tack cloths by putting them in baby food jars or ziplock storage bags. Welcome fellow woodworker! The tips of different sizes of nails can be used as drill bits, working well on most wood stocks. Abrasive wheels can be cleaned of goo with cooking spray -- it also helps prevent buildup of particulate matter. Old croquet mallets, cut down to size, make inexpensive backup woodworking mallets! Wipe the clear sheild of your safety glasses with a dryer static cling sheet -- it will keep sawdust from sticking to them! Keep your table saw push stick close at hand by fastening it to the front of your saw table with velcro or magnets so you can quickly grab it when needed. If you have to bend small pieces of wood, wrap them in a damp towel and put them in the microwave for 2 minutes on high -- be certain no metal is present. Dented wood can often be repaired by heating a damp cloth with an iron over the dent...the wood will expand, filling the hole. Welcome fellow woodworker! Covering the back side of sandpaper with duct tape will make it last MUCH longer.
