Dented wood can often be repaired by heating a damp cloth with an iron over the dent...the wood will expand, filling the hole. Old croquet mallets, cut down to size, make inexpensive backup woodworking mallets! Easily remove rusted screws by heating the head with a soltering iron -- it will expand, then contract making it easy to remove.
