Petroleum jelly and cooking oils make perfect inexpensive, non-toxic light stains for projects. Old croquet mallets, cut down to size, make inexpensive backup woodworking mallets! Covering the back side of sandpaper with duct tape will make it last MUCH longer. Easily remove rusted screws by heating the head with a soltering iron -- it will expand, then contract making it easy to remove. Dented wood can often be repaired by heating a damp cloth with an iron over the dent...the wood will expand, filling the hole. The tips of different sizes of nails can be used as drill bits, working well on most wood stocks.
