Simple and "easy to make", as the original 1890's text states, this bedside table is sure to please the lover of Mission furniture. The piece would have been made of quarter-sawn white oak -- still not a bad choice. Except for the tapered legs, all cuts are straight making this a good project for the advanced beginner or intermediate woodworker looking to get a start on mortise and tenon joinery. Size: 33" tall, 18" wide, and 18" deep.

The antique plan has been re-mastered and enlarged to an easy-to-read 36" wide plan which includes: a list of the materials needed and how many sides should be surfaced, measured drawings featuring front and side views, plus original instructions and notes on construction and the general considerations of the project.

The plan also includes a bonus reader entitled "Olde World Craftsman Techniques" which talks about topics like making Mission Stains, Filling Oak, Wax Finishing, and more, plus it outlines three great jigs related to Mission furniture making. The information you get with a Turn of the Century plan is a classroom study on Mission woodworking.
