Hutch and Buffet Plans
The 42"
high China Hutch with four glass doors is as fine as those found
in high-end furniture stores.
The top hutch portion can be used with an existing buffet of 54" or
more
in length, 14" in depth. The dentil molding on the cornice is
unique. Finished hutch is just over 12" deep. You get a
plan for the hutch, plus a separate plan for the buffet.
The buffet (the lower portion
pictured) has five
lipped drawers plus two storage cabinets with lipped doors and
fielded panels -- you can see a good example of both in the upper color
photo. Traditionally, brass trim is used for the drawer pulls and
cabinet knobs, but as you can see from the lower color photo changing
the hardware can drastically change the look of this sturdy solid wood
furniture. Ogee bracket feet are typical of this type of
Chippendale
design. Overall size: 18" deep, 54" wide, 33" high.
A
blueprint style plan, heralded by beginners and
experts
alike as being a pleasure to work from because all parts are printed in
full
size -- all joinery is shown in actual size, curved workpieces are all
in full size, therefore you can measure and trace straight from the
drawing if necessary. A bill of
materials doubles as an exact
cutting list, there is an exploded diagram, and all hardware
requirements
are provided. The exploded diagram is so detailed, project
specific assembly instructions are not provided. A
special booklet entitled Guide to
Building Wood Furniture is included with each Furniture
Designs,
Inc. plan and includes many tips explaining woodworking.
