Classic Kayak Plans
It's a project many have considered, but only a few can take pride in actually having built. A great project to do with your son or daughter, building a boat of any sort will make memories for a lifetime. The moment you launch the craft for the first time will make the preparation and work worth while.

The finished kayak is just under 12' long and is over 30" wide. A simple canvas painter's drop cloth can be used for the overskin. A series of ribs and skeleton strips makes the frame of the boat. Stretch the canvas over it.

You get full size patterns for all ribs, just trace and cut. It will take the builder some time to work out the details in his head, but the project is quite buildable even by the advanced beginner. Three sheets of large measured drawings, list of materials, and instructional material are all provided in the plans.
