Cloths used to wipe stain can be safely air dried in a well ventilated area away from pets and children. Petroleum jelly and cooking oils make perfect inexpensive, non-toxic light stains for projects. Dented wood can often be repaired by heating a damp cloth with an iron over the dent...the wood will expand, filling the hole. Use a moist cloth to slightly dampen your hands before feeding stock through a cutter -- it gives you a much better grip on the stock.
