Dented wood can often be repaired by heating a damp cloth with an iron over the dent...the wood will expand, filling the hole. Petroleum jelly and cooking oils make perfect inexpensive, non-toxic light stains for projects. Easily remove rusted screws by heating the head with a soltering iron -- it will expand, then contract making it easy to remove.
