A handsome 1870s, vintage fire truck that is inspired by the Amoskeag Company’s self-powered firefighting apparatus. It’s from an era just after horse drawn wagons and just before gasoline engines. A chain drive from the steam pump turned the rear wheels. Features working steering, toolboxes, lanterns and a drive chain. Patterns are included for the display base and plaque text. A copy of an original maintenance checklist from early fire engines is included as a bonus. Requires a little lathe work. Multiple colored hardwoods or stains add a nice touch. A classic display piece for home, office, or fire station. 12" long, 6" wide", 7" high when finished.
