This one chest plan can yield many results. As you can see in the picture, the detailed scrollsawn band which spans around the outside of the chest can be interchanged between five designs. There are details for floral, weave, teddy bear or toy train detail band work.

Cabriole legs are explained and "do-able" by intermediates with ease on the band saw. Sturdy chest can be lined with aromatic cedar for a truly stupendous graduation or wedding gift of heirloom quality.

The tips of different sizes of nails can be used as drill bits, working well on most wood stocks. Wipe the clear sheild of your safety glasses with a dryer static cling sheet -- it will keep sawdust from sticking to them! Measure twice, cut once -- the paramount rule of building! If you have to bend small pieces of wood, wrap them in a damp towel and put them in the microwave for 2 minutes on high -- be certain no metal is present.
