Here are Bill's notes, in brief:

"Ordered Krackles plan last fall. Used poplar wood. Changed a couple things but only slightly. If I were to build another I would make legs one piece, use dremel to mark hoof lines. Ears, I would use more pink tint to lighten inside of ears. I used dye on mane and saddle, red mahogany. Saddle was dark mahogany. Worked great. Saddle I would leave all as one piece excluding the horn and cut and sand down complete saddle as one piece. Left saddle dowled without glue this way as child grows saddle can be put on horse and last child a longer time. Rockers I used full 2" finished board. Was easier than cutting down to 1.5". Blanket is attached by light weight string/rope put through holes drilled in body in opposing holes on 20 degree angle or so. Holes are at a low low angle V shape, then tied a knot in rope on each side so rope could not be pulled out."

Check the left of the page for a link. Wipe the clear sheild of your safety glasses with a dryer static cling sheet -- it will keep sawdust from sticking to them! Abrasive wheels can be cleaned of goo with cooking spray -- it also helps prevent buildup of particulate matter. Use a moist cloth to slightly dampen your hands before feeding stock through a cutter -- it gives you a much better grip on the stock. Extend the life of your tack cloths by putting them in baby food jars or ziplock storage bags. The tips of different sizes of nails can be used as drill bits, working well on most wood stocks. Keep your table saw push stick close at hand by fastening it to the front of your saw table with velcro or magnets so you can quickly grab it when needed. Dented wood can often be repaired by heating a damp cloth with an iron over the dent...the wood will expand, filling the hole. Covering the back side of sandpaper with duct tape will make it last MUCH longer. White pencils are very useful in woodworking...they make easy to see lines on darker wood stocks. Petroleum jelly and cooking oils make perfect inexpensive, non-toxic light stains for projects. Old croquet mallets, cut down to size, make inexpensive backup woodworking mallets! Measure twice, cut once -- the paramount rule of building! Keep your saw blades clean at all times. A gooey blade can cause dangerous kick back. If you have to bend small pieces of wood, wrap them in a damp towel and put them in the microwave for 2 minutes on high -- be certain no metal is present. A roll up window blind or shade is a perfect place to store woodworking plans -- just tape them down and let the shade roll them up. Easily remove rusted screws by heating the head with a soltering iron -- it will expand, then contract making it easy to remove. Welcome fellow woodworker! Did you know you can Mail-In your order?
