Wipe the clear sheild of your safety glasses with a dryer static cling sheet -- it will keep sawdust from sticking to them! Keep your saw blades clean at all times. Use a moist cloth to slightly dampen your hands before feeding stock through a cutter -- it gives you a much better grip on the stock. Covering the back side of sandpaper with duct tape will make it last MUCH longer. Extend the life of your tack cloths by putting them in baby food jars or ziplock storage bags. The tips of different sizes of nails can be used as drill bits, working well on most wood stocks. Easily remove rusted screws by heating the head with a soltering iron -- it will expand, then contract making it easy to remove. Measure twice, cut once -- the paramount rule of building! Abrasive wheels can be cleaned of goo with cooking spray -- it also helps prevent buildup of particulate matter. Cloths used to wipe stain can be safely air dried in a well ventilated area away from pets and children. Petroleum jelly and cooking oils make perfect inexpensive, non-toxic light stains for projects.
