Did you know you can Mail-In your order? Check the left of the page for a Mail-In Orderform link. Petroleum jelly and cooking oils make perfect inexpensive, non-toxic light stains for projects. Covering the back side of sandpaper with duct tape will make it last MUCH longer. Keep your saw blades clean at all times. A gooey blade can cause dangerous kick back. Old croquet mallets, cut down to size, make inexpensive backup woodworking mallets! Dented wood can often be repaired by heating a damp cloth with an iron over the dent...the wood will expand, filling the hole. Measure twice, cut once -- the paramount rule of building! Keep your stains and glues from freezing in your non-heated workshop by storing them in a plastic food cooler. Neat! Keep your table saw push stick close at hand by fastening it to the front of your saw table with velcro or magnets so you can quickly grab it when needed. A roll up window blind or shade is a perfect place to store woodworking plans -- just tape them down and let the shade roll them up. White pencils are very useful in woodworking...they make easy to see lines on darker wood stocks. Use a moist cloth to slightly dampen your hands before feeding stock through a cutter -- it gives you a much better grip on the stock. Easily remove rusted screws by heating the head with a soltering iron -- it will expand, then contract making it easy to remove.
