Here is a much sought after plan based on a design from decades ago -- or longer. Swan rockers similar to this one used to be quite popular toys. Many kids could only sit on and rock, while others like this one, you could actually sit in. Easy to make. The picture you see here was sent by customer Robert Archer of the United Kingdom -- proving your results can be fantastic when you use this plan.

Our swan rocker is 31" long, and 14" wide -- much larger than you might have imagined.

Use a moist cloth to slightly dampen your hands before feeding stock through a cutter -- it gives you a much better grip on the stock. Did you know you can Mail-In your order? If you have to bend small pieces of wood, wrap them in a damp towel and put them in the microwave for 2 minutes on high -- be certain no metal is present. White pencils are very useful in woodworking...they make easy to see lines on darker wood stocks. Petroleum jelly and cooking oils make perfect inexpensive, non-toxic light stains for projects. Cloths used to wipe stain can be safely air dried in a well ventilated area away from pets and children. Keep your stains and glues from freezing in your non-heated workshop by storing them in a plastic food cooler. Neat! Easily remove rusted screws by heating the head with a soltering iron -- it will expand, then contract making it easy to remove. Old croquet mallets, cut down to size, make inexpensive backup woodworking mallets! Measure twice, cut once -- the paramount rule of building! Keep your saw blades clean at all times. A gooey blade can cause dangerous kick back. Abrasive wheels can be cleaned of goo with cooking spray -- it also helps prevent buildup of particulate matter. Welcome fellow woodworker! Dented wood can often be repaired by heating a damp cloth with an iron over the dent...the wood will expand, filling the hole. Welcome fellow woodworker! Wipe the clear sheild of your safety glasses with a dryer static cling sheet -- it will keep sawdust from sticking to them! Extend the life of your tack cloths by putting them in baby food jars or ziplock storage bags. The tips of different sizes of nails can be used as drill bits, working well on most wood stocks.
